Sept 16, Colombo: The navies of Sri Lanka and Japan will hold a joint naval exercise in the seas off the southern coast Navy media spokesman Commander Kosala Warnakulasuriya has said.
Two more Japanese Naval vessels arrived in Sri Lanka Sunday to take part in the naval exercise with the SLNS Samudra.
Shimayuki TV- 3513, a training ship with a length of 130 meters and a displacement of 3,050 tons and Matsuyuki DD- 130, a 130-meter long destroyer with a displacement of 3,050 tons were scheduled to arrive on September16th.
The two ships will join Kashima TV- 3508, which has already arrived at the Port of Colombo on a goodwill visit on Septembe14th. Kashima is a 143-meter long training ship with a displacement of 4050 tons.
The visiting Japanese ships are scheduled to take part in a joint exercise with the Sri Lankan Navy ships before their departure on Sept ember 19.
