Sept 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka's major Tamil party, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) leader R. Sampanthan will meet the President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday, sources said.
TNA leader Sampanthan had earlier scheduled to meet the President on Friday but the meeting was postponed due to bad health of the elderly TNA leader.
TNA has proposed to support an all-party government in the Eastern Provincial Council to resolve the problems of the Eastern Province.
The TNA has won 11 seats and the ruling party has won 14 seats in the Eastern Provincial Council. The Tamil party tried to form a coalition government allying with the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) and the major opposition United National Party but the SLMC has not responded to it yet.
