Sept 14, Colombo: Six new ambassadors and two high commissioners taking assignments in Sri Lanka presented their credentials to President of Sri Lanka Mahinda Rajapaksa today (14) at a ceremony held at the President's Secretariat in Colombo.

The other new diplomats assuming duties were Ambassador-Designate of Brazil Marcelo Leonardo da Silva Vasconcelos, Ambassador-Designate of Hungary Dr. Jansz Trenei, Ambassador-Designate of Norway Ms. Grete Lochen, Ambassador-Designate of the United Arab Emirates Abdul Hamid Kassim, High Commissioner-Designate of Nigeria Feme Akinson, Ambassador-Designate of Germany Dr. J ürgen Morhard and Ambassador-Designate of Cyprus Ms. Maria Mitchell.
Minister of External Affairs Prof. G.L Peiris, and Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, were also present at the event.
