Oct 27, Colombo: The Voice Against Corruption Movement affiliated to Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) is to lodge a complaint with the Commission to Investigate Bribery or Corruption against the Central Bank over the controversial investment in Greek Bonds.

JVP Propaganda Secretary, parliamentarian Vijitha Herath said the complaint would be lodged before the Commission next week.

He explained that the government has admitted to the million rupee loss incurred by the country due to the Central Bank's decision to invest in Greek Bonds in violation of monetary regulations and without a proper risk assessment.

Meanwhile, the parliamentary Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE) also stated in an interim report submitted to parliament that the investment in Greek Bonds, which has resulted in the loss of around US$ 15. 6 million to the country should be subjected to a further investigation.

According to Herath, the JVP would push for an investigation into the controversial investment.
