Oct 18, Colombo: Sri Lanka's main opposition United National Party (UNP) today commenced a campaign to create awareness among the people about the rising cost of living and the corruption in the government.
UNP Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe led today's campaign and the first in the series commenced from the Nugegoda market.
The party carried out a leaflet distribution campaign highlighting the increase in the cost of living and the government's failure to bring down corruption in the country.
Wickremasinghe has said the UNP's campaign would be carried out in all parts of the country.
He has added that the campaign is to call on the government to provide relief to the people.
