Oct 17, Galle: Sri Lanka Police is probing the death of a foreign ship captain on board a ship that was in Sri Lankan waters

The Captain of the Saudi Arabian flagged tug 'Resolve Gladiator' had died on board in the early hours of Tuesday while the ship was nine nautical miles away from the Galle Harbour en route to Pakistan from India, the police said.

The deceased captain has been identified as Jose Gabana a 53-year-old Philippine national. It has been reported that Gabana had died of an apparent heart failure.

The body has been brought to the Galle fishing harbor yesterday and later, the remains have been sent to the Karapitiya Hospital for post mortem which is scheduled for today.
