Oct 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prishantha Jayakody, who has been reappointed as Police Spokesman will assume duty tomorrow, police headquarters announced.
The former spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana has been appointed as the SSP for Ampara district with effect from 10th October 2012 to replace Senior Superintendent of Police Maxi Proctor who has been promoted and appointed as the Acting Deputy Inspector general (DIG) for Mannar District.
SSP Prishantha Jayakody was the police media spokesman until September 2011 when he was appointed as the head of the Sri Lankan contingent of the peace keeping forces of the United Nations in Haiti.
SSP Jayakody was then replaced by SSP Proctor, a veteran of 25 years in the Police Service until his appointment to Ampara District.
SSP Proctor was the former head of the Fraud Investigations Bureau (FIB).
SP Ajith Rohana assumed duties in the post on October 18, 2011. He was later promoted to SSP.
