* Sri Lanka to open hotline for language issues

Oct 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka Ministry of National Languages and Ethnic Integration has planned to introduce a hotline for resolving the language issues affecting the public service.

Sri Lanka Minister of National Languages and Ethnic Integration Vasudeva Nanayakkara said that the hotline would be able to get solutions to all the problems in relation to any of the offices of the public service.

The Ministry says the hotline 1956 will soon be opened for this purpose.

Minister Nanayakkara said that the Ministry of National Languages and Ethnic Integration is committed to fully implement the Official Languages Policy (OLP) throughout the country.

Through the National Languages Project, the Canadian government is assisting the Ministry to restructure and empower its institutions whose mandate is to implement the OLP.
