Oct 09, Colombo: The resigned national list parliamentarian of the ruling United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) actress Malini Fonseka again took oaths in the parliament today before the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa.
MP Malini Fonseka submitted her resignation on September 24 to the parliament in a move to allow the former Chief Minister of the North Central Provincial Council Berty Premalal Dissanayaka to enter into the parliament as a national list MP.
The Parliamentary Secretary Dhammika Kithulgoda and the Election Commissioner had accepted her resignation but the President refused to accept her resignation.
Following President's refusal the veteran actress decided to withdraw her resignation.
Dissanayaka who lost the battle for the Chief Minister post to S.M. Ranjith took oaths as a councilor of the North Central Provincial Council.
