Oct 08, Kurunegala: Housing and Construction Minister of Sri Lanka Wimal Weerawansa says that some elements were trying to create political instability in the country.
Addressing a ceremony in Kurunegala, Weerawansa has said that various forces were trying to create confusion in the country.
Citing the issue over the controversy surrounding the passing of the Divi Neguma Bill, the Minister has said that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has gone to courts to challenge the Northern Province Governor's authority to grant approval for the bill.
Weerawansa had pointed out that the bill was presented to the provincial councils after the Supreme Court had informed parliament that the bill needed to be approved by the provincial councils before being adopted as law.
According to the Minister, some elements were trying to create confusion when a majority of the provincial councils had approved the bill.
