Oct 06, Haputale: A Chinese tourist couple was killed and 3 others injured in a lightning strike in Sri Lanka's hill country, police said Saturday.

According to the Disaster management Center of Sri Lanka, the lightning struck around 3.45 p.m. at a lookout spot in Lipton City Dambethenna, 14 km away from Haputale town in Badulla district.

Police said t three other people were also injured by the thunder attack and they were admitted to the Haputale Base Hospital.

Police said that thunder showers with heavy lightning lashed the hill area.
