Oct 06, Colombo: Chairman of Sri Lanka's Federation of University Teachers' Associations Dr. Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri told media that the discussions held with the government today ended with a positive outcome.

Dr. Dewasiri participated in talks with the Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa this evening.

He further said that the discussion was an extension of the dialogue started with the Minister Rajapaksa and their demands were set forth for the discussion.

FUTA has scheduled to hold another round of discussions with the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance Dr. P. B. Jayasundera on Monday.

FUTA chairman said that the decision regarding the strike would be taken after the meeting with the Secretary of the Ministry of Finance.
