Oct 05, Colombo: Two Sinhala Buddhist organizations have lodged a complaint in police against the leader of the Left Front Dr. Wickramabahu Karunaratne over his views on ethnic problem of the country.
The two organizations, Sinhala National Front and Sinhala Ravaya lodged the complaint to the Inspector General of Police on October 04.
The complaint is based on the fact that the leftist politician has violated the 157th article of sixth Amendment to the Constitution which bans supporting the moves to establish a separate state in Sri Lanka.
The complaint comprises 12 pages in writing and 60 pages annexed.
The plaintiffs claim that the complaint includes facts to begin a probe and to frame charges against Dr. Karunaratne.
Dr. Karunaratne, a Sinhala national, is an ardent supporter of Tamil's self-determination. He was the only participant from Sri Lanka at the Tamil Eelam Supporters Organization (TESO) conference held by DMK, a pro-separatist Tamil party in India, in August in support of reviving the 'separate homeland for Tamils' cause and dividing the island to a Tamil Eelam in the North and East.
