Oct 02, Galle: Sri Lanka Navy has arrested another 23 illegal migrants bound for Australia in the seas off the Southern shores Tuesday (October 2).
Naval troops attached to the Southern Naval Command have arrested 23 persons illegally bound for Australia at Weligama in Southern Province today.
According to the Navy, among the arrested were 14 Tamils, 7 Sinhalese and 2 Muslims. The group included 19 men and 4 women.
The Navy has handed over the arrested persons with their vehicles to the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) for further investigations.
