Oct 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka's second player in the petroleum market, the India Oil Corporation owned Lanka Indian Oil Corporation (LIOC) announced today that it will increase the price of diesel from midnight Monday (October 01).
Accordingly, a liter of diesel will be increased by Rs. 4 and the new price of a liter of diesel will be Rs. 121, a LIOC official said.
The LIOC raised diesel prices in May this year by Rs. 2.00 a liter.
However, the price of diesel of state owned Ceylon Petroleum Corporation will remain unchanged at Rs. 115 while a liter of Lanka Super Diesel is sold at Rs. 142.
Ceylon Petroleum Corporation is the major player in petroleum market in Sri Lanka.
