Nov 02, Colombo: Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) sources say that about 100 members of the Association will request an urgent general assembly of the BASL to discuss the impeachment motion against the Chief Justice Dr. Shirani Bandaranayake.

The urgent general assembly of the BASL is expected to be held on November 09.

The request that was signed by the BASL members yesterday is to be handed over to the President of BASL, MP and President's Counsel Wijedasa Rajapaksa today.

Sri Lanka Freedom Party handed over an impeachment motion against the Chief Justice to the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa Thursday with the signatures of 117 legislators.
