* Sri Lankan government to release Sinhala and Tamil versions of LLRC report next week
Fri, Jul 27, 2012, 08:32 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

July 27, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government is to release the Sinhala and Tamil versions of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC) report next week.

Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga said the LLRC report that was initially released in English last December has now been translated into Sinhala and Tamil and the Sinhala and Tamil versions would be released next week.

He attributed the delay in releasing the report was to the delay in the Government Printer's Department.

According to Weeratunga, the implementation of the LLRC is an involving process and would be open for suggestions and proposals from interested persons or groups.

"The government is committed to implement the LLRC recommendations," he said.

According to the Secretary, some of the recommendations will be implemented this year while the others may be implemented next year.
