July 06, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has donated a consignment of medical supplies including equipment and medicines to the Republic of Congo, External Affairs Ministry said in a release today.
The consignment worth 3.3 million rupees has been made on a request made by the government of Congo.
Minister of Health, Maithripala Sirisena, has handed over the items to the Acting Minister of External Affairs, Neomal Perera on Wednesday (July 04) at the Ministry of Health.
During a two-day official visit to Brazzaville in February this year, Sri Lanka's External Affairs Minister Prof G.L. Peiris has signed an agreement with the Congolese government to establish diplomatic relations between the two countries.
