Aug 15, Colombo: Sri Lanka's power authority Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) issued a warning to the employees who are on strike today ordering them to report to duty by 12 noon August 17th.
The statement further said that the alternative methods would be used to obtain the services of the officials that do not report to duty by that time.
CEB employees' strike fulfills one week to the date the employees are asked to report. The joint trade union coalition of the CEB claims that all the employees except the engineers are on strike although the CEB authorities say that half of the employees are back on duty.
Meanwhile, the CEB statement has further urged the skilled field officials of the CEB who retired after 2008 from CEB service to report to the closest Regional Electrical Engineers' Office.
CEB has also planned to recruit retired engineers to replace the striking Electrical Superintendents, sources say.
