Aug 10, Colombo: A new chairman and a director board have been appointed today to take over the administration of Sri Lanka's beleaguered petroleum authority, Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
Petroleum Industries Minister Susil Premajayantha this morning has appointed Tilak Collure, the former Secretary to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce as the Chairman of the CPC.
The Managing Director of CPC Susantha Silva, CEO of Dialog Axiata Dr. Hans Wijesuriya and Nalin Pathikirikorala were appointed as the members of the director board.
The CPC has recently come under fire for distributing substandard diesel to state institutions and the use of the contaminated fuel has damaged a number of state vehicles including trains, buses, postal rucks, cranes at the Port authority and ambulances. The damages have been estimated at millions of rupees.
