Aug 02, Colombo: A Sri Lankan minister has said that five main opposition United National Party (UNP) members are to cross over to the government shortly.
Social Services Minister Felix Perera addressing a public meeting has claimed that five powerful UNP politicians would cross over to the government in the next few days.
He has noted that the main opposition party was weak and the party leader was trying to drive members away by his actions.
Perera has said that the UNP Leader was trying to amend the party Constitution in order to safeguard his post.
According to the Minister, a party would not be faced with any issues if the party leader is honest, upright and strong.
