Aug 01, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Police will take measures to enhance security for the country's judges at the request of the judges following the recent attack on the Mannar court complex.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), N. K. Ilangakoon has given instructions to the senior Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of the provinces to accommodate judges' requests for extra security, the Police Spokesman has said.
The senior police officials have been given instructions to meet the judges in the Magistrate's Courts once a month to discuss security issues of the judges and the courts.
Currently, the police security is provided to judges at their residences and during official travel.
