* Sri Lanka Marxist party calls on government to reveal details of LLRC Action Plan
Sat, May 12, 2012, 09:57 am SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

May 12, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Marxist party Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) called on the government to reveal details about the Action Plan that is being prepared on the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Commission (LLRC).

JVP parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the government needed to present the Action Plan to parliament before handing it to the US.

He says the government needed to publicize the document since the Sri Lankan people have the right to know about issues that affect them.

He charged that the government could not ignore its responsibilities to the people by diverting attention towards winning the war.

According to Dissanayake, the government has not granted the rights of the people and those who question the issue have been called traitors.
