May 03, Colombo: Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has chaired a special discussion recently at Temple Trees to review the progress and the future plans of Sri Lanka's national carrier, Sri Lankan Airlines.
The President has pointed out that the airline officials should take measures to build confidence in the national carrier with the support of overseas Sri Lankan missions.
He has noted that everyone serving in the SriLankan Airlines should be dedicated towards its development.
The President has also instructed the officials of the budget carrier Mihin Lanka to grant concessions to pilgrims to places of Buddhist worship in South India.
Minister of Economic Development Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Civil Aviation Priyankara Jayaratne, Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga, Secretary to the Treasury Dr. P.B. Jayasundara and senior airline officials also participated in the discussion.
