Sun, Mar 4, 2012, 02:29 pm SL Time, ColomboPage News Desk, Sri Lanka.

Mar 04, Colombo: Sri Lanka government sources say that a group of senior Ministers have planned to urge the President Mahinda Rajapaksa to promptly implement the recommendations of the Lessons Learnt and Reconciliation Committee (LLRC).

Reportedly, the Ministers and the MPs representing the left parties in the government are leading this move that is backed by a group of senior leaders of Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP), the major constituent of the ruling alliance.

They are of the view that the government needs to resolve the ethnic problem through the recommendations of the LLRC.

They point out that decisive steps are needed to be taken to avert the international pressure on the government.
