The cabinet has granted approval to a proposal put forward by the Minister of Culture and the Arts T.B. Ekanayake to sign the MoU with Indonesia.

The government says the MoU, to be signed with the visiting Foreign Minister of Indonesia Dr. Marty Natalegawa, would help to enrich and foster the cultures of the two countries and also pave the way for exchange of cultural programs.

The visiting Minister was scheduled to meet President Mahinda Rajapaksa yesterday.

During his visit, delegations of Sri Lanka and Indonesia led by the respective Foreign Ministers will hold a Joint Commission meeting.
