Jan 26, Colombo: Deputy Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development of Sri Lanka Weerakumara Dissanayake says that a political solution that goes beyond the 13th Amendment needs to be thought out very carefully.

He has told the media that the government facing a great risk since the whole concept of 13th plus could spread like a germ.

He has noted that it could be used to obstruct the government's development path.

Therefore, he has observed that the government in this scenario needs to work according to a proper legal framework.

"We need to see whether the TNA has given war or peace to the Tamil people in the country. The President has developed the North. The TNA has given only bunker to the Tamil people in the past few years," Dissanayake has said.

Referring to the actions of the UN Human Rights Council, the Deputy Minister has observed that it needed to be seen whether it was wrong to have ended a war to bring peace to a country.

"People are now enjoying economic freedom in the country. The Council is doing what the opposition wants. We have a leader who has a feeling for the nation and he received the confidence of a majority of the people in the country. The Council needs to be pay attention to these facts as well," Dissanayake has added.
