* Sri Lanka weekly Ravaya celebrates 25th Anniversary

Feb 28, Colombo: The Sinhala weekly Ravaya celebrated its 25th anniversary Tuesday with the participation of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa as the chief guest.

Editor-in-Chief of the Ravaya newspaper Victor Ivan who launched the newspaper warmly welcomed the President Rajapaksa to the event.

The weekly news magazine which is known for its radical political views, is described as an intellectuals' forum for nontraditional analysis of social, political, cultural and judicial views of Sri Lanka.

The Prime Minister D. M. Jayaratne,Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe, Tamil National Alliance Leader R. Sampanthan, government ministers, parliamentarians and journalists participated in the celebratory event.
