* Sri Lankan cricketer Jehan Mubarak arrested over a fatal accident

Apr 22, Colombo: Sri Lanka police have arrested Test cricketer Jehan Mubarak today over a fatal accident that claimed the life of one man and seriously injured another.

Mubarak had driven the Defender vehicle that collided head-on with a motorcycle at around 2 PM today (22) at Mailankulama on Puttalam - Colombo highway.

He was returning with a group of foreign and local visitors from the Wilpattu National Park when he met with the fatal accident.

One person was killed and another was hospitalized with severe injuries sustained in the head-on collision, the police said.

The deceased person has been identified as Pradeep Kumara.

The American-born left handed batsman made his Test debut in July 2002 against Bangladesh. He plays mostly in club cricket now.
