Nov 24, Colombo: Sri Lanka's former deputy Defense Minister during the President Chandrika Kumaratunga's administration General Anuruddha Ratwatte has passed away this morning at Kandy Hospital.

The 73-year-old former Minister of Power and Energy has been hospitalized after a fall in his home in Anniyawatte. He was on a life support system at the ICU for head injuries received from the fall.

General Anuruddha Ratwatte is the father of current Kandy district ruling party parliamentarian Lohan Ratwatte.
