Sept 13, Colombo: Sri Lanka's local media reported that a new Police Media Spokesman has been appointed to replace the present police spokesman Superintendent of Police Prishantha Jayakody.

Senior Superintendent of Police Maxi Proctor is set to assume duties as the Police Media Spokesman this week, Daily Mirror online reported.

SP Prishantha Jayakody is to be appointed as the head of the Sri Lankan contingent of the peace keeping forces of the United Nations in Haiti, police sources said.

SSP Proctor, a veteran of 25 years in the Police was the former head of the Fraud Investigations Bureau (FIB) of Police. He was recently transferred to the Disciplinary Control unit of the police headquarters.
