Sept 01, Colombo: Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa met with the representatives of construction sector today (01) at Temple Trees to obtain ideas and views for the preparation of the 2012 budget due to be tabled in the parliament later this year.
As a policy, the President seeks the opinions and suggestions from various sectors before formulating the budget and holds discussions with leaders and representatives of those sectors in the country to obtain ideas and views for the preparation of the next year's budget.
The President last week met with the representatives of the plantation sector and trade associations, economic centers and super markets.
Ministers, Nimal Siripala de Silva, Wimal Weerawansa, Anura Priyadarshana Yapa, Mahinda Amaraweera, Basil Rajapaksa, Finance and Planning Ministry Secretary Dr. P.B. Jayasundara, Defense Secretary, Gotabhaya Rajapaksa and ministry officials were present at the meeting.
