June 09, Colombo: Sri Lanka opposition today revealed to the parliament that around 80,000 graduates in the country are unemployed.

The fact was revealed in a dialogue between the opposition MP, United National Party (UNP) Deputy Leader Sajith Premadasa and the Minister of Productivity Promotion Lakshman Seneviratne.

MP Sajith Premadasa inquired whether the government would provide employments in the public sector to the unemployed graduates he estimated as 80,000.

The Minister said the government is implementing a programme to recruit 15,000 graduates to the public service soon.
