July 06, Colombo: Senior Minister for International Monetary Co-operation in Sri Lanka Sarath Amunugama has told parliament that plans are underway to build more seven star class luxury hotels in the country.
He has said that these hotel projects would be similar to the luxury hotel project launched by the Hong Kong based Shangri La Hotels in the country.
Amunugama has made this statement during the debate on the allocation of a Rs. 20 billion supplementary budget to the Defence Ministry to build a Defence Headquarters to relocate the Defence Ministry and the headquarters of the three armed forces.
According to Amunugama, Sri Lanka's Pentagon would be located in Battaramulla once the Defence Headquarters is completed.
