* Demonstration in Trincomalee looking for Sri Lanka's disappeared persons

May 13, Trincomalee: A group of mothers, children, and other relatives of disappeared persons held a demonstration today in the Eastern Province port city of Trincomalee seeking the whereabouts of their relatives.

Trincomalee branch of 'We Sri Lankans' organization staged the demonstration, an organizer said.

The organization has earlier handed in a list of names of persons disappeared during the last years of conflict to the Terrorist Investigation Department (TID) of police and the Welikada prison, an organizer of the demonstration said.

Former parliamentarians of Marxist People's Liberation Front (JVP) Jayantha Wijesekara and Wimal Piyathissa also participated in the demonstration.
