* Sri Lanka's major opposition to hold special conference of elected councilors

Mar 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka's major opposition United National Party (UNP) has summoned all its elected local government members to Colombo on March 30.

The party will have a special conference of the elected councilors at the party headquarters Sirikotha.

Party leader and Opposition Leader, Ranil Wickremasinghe has summoned the meeting and the party deputy leaders Karu Jayasuriya and Sajith Premadasa, General Secretary Tissa Attanayake and Chairman Gamini Jayawickrama Perera are also to address the councilors.

The elected councilors are to swear in and the Chairmen and Deputy Chairmen are to receive the appointment letters on that day.
