Mar 09, Colombo: The Sri Lankan military has arrested an army soldier over an accidental shooting of a student on Monday in Valvettithurai of Jaffna, the military said.

The victim is reportedly in a close association with the military personnel and the incident was an accident, the military sources said.

The injured victim has been admitted to the hospital. The soldier remains under military custody, the sources said.

The military is conducting further investigations.
