* Netherland government funds two hospital projects in Sri Lanka

Jan 13, Colombo: The Sri Lankan government has identified several key projects to implement with the concessionary financial assistance pledged by government of the Netherlands through the Rabobank International of the Netherlands.

Under the initiative, the government will develop the Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya district hospitals with financial assistance of Euro 86.49 million from the Netherlands.

The Cabinet of ministers Thursday approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of Health, Maithripala Sirisena to award the contract to a construction company in the Netherlands for a total cost of Euro 86.49 million, the government media reported.

The contract, as already planned and designed, include construction of required buildings, supply of necessary medical and other equipment, installation, training etc., the government said.
