* Sri Lanka Police Department identifies police stations for renovations

Apr 26, Colombo: Sri Lanka Police Department has identified 20 police stations in the Western Province and several others island wide for renovations.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Mahinda Balasuriya has reportedly decided on the move to renovate the police stations in order to make them more people friendly.

The Department as a first issued a circular to all police stations to clean up the stations by painting them, breaking down walls that were in a dilapidated condition and to plant vegetables and flowers in the garden areas.

The police stations are to be made more easily accessible for the people through these moves.
