July 31, Colombo: Sri Lanka police Saturday denied local media reports that the driver of the LTTE leader V. Prabhakaran has surrendered to the Trincomalee police.

Police Spokesman SP Prishantha Jayakody has told the government news web site that the person arrested was an LTTE suspect but not the driver of the slain Tiger leader.

"He is handicapped with one leg amputated. He is not a driver at all," the police spokesman has said.

Trincomalee Police are continuing further investigations on the arrested LTTE cadre.
