July 30, Colombo: Sri Lankan government today ordered the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to initiate special investigation on the reported fire attack on a private radio and TV station in capital Colombo.

An early morning arson attack Friday on the Siyatha Radio Station at Hunupitiya Lake Road in Colombo has severely damaged the offices and the equipment of the media outlet and injured two employees.

Preliminary reports said a gang of armed men stormed the building and threw petrol bombs into the offices causing the fire.
