One killed and another injured trying to split a coconut with an unexploded mortar in Sri Lanka 
July 22, Kalpitiya: Sri Lanka police said that one person was killed and another injured when the individuals had attempted to use an unexploded mortar to break a "kurumba" (young coconut) in Palliwasalthurai, Kalpitiya in Northwestern Sri Lanka. According to the police, the men had found the unexploded device in an Air Force training ground in Kalpitiya. They had then tried to use the mortar to split the coconut when it had exploded killing one and injuring the other.
