Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma told the media today (16) that the government is to invite the JVP to discuss the constitutional amendments and electoral reforms in order to arrive at a consensus with opposition political parties on the matter.

The government has already initiated a dialogue with the main opposition UNP on the matter.

The Minister further stated that the proposed constitutional reforms would be released in two weeks.

Meanwhile JVP politburo member and DNA parliamentarian Anura Kumara Dissanayake said the party could decide on discussing the proposed constitutional amendments only after they are released to the public.
