Aug 29, Colombo: The Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) special disciplinary committee inquiring into the incident where former deputy minister Mervyn Silva had tied a public official to a tree is currently compiling its final report.
The committee has concluded recording statements from witnesses.
A committee spokesperson has told the local media that the final report will be handed over to President Mahinda Rajapaksa next week.
The three-member committee has recorded statements from Silva and the Samurdhi officer who was tied to a tree by Silva for failing to attend a dengue prevention program.
