Aug 24, Kandy: The final Randoli Perahera of the historic Esala Festival of Kandy will parade the streets this evening.

The historic pageantry commenced on August 10 with the traditional "Kap" planting ceremony will come to an end with the traditional water cutting ceremony at the Mahaweli River in Getambe tomorrow (25) morning followed by the day Perahera.

The Perahera will showcase many cultural dances and more than one hundred bejeweled elephants.

The President will present awards to the artistes who performed in the Perahera tomorrow evening.

Meanwhile, the police have deployed about 4,000 policemen to provide security to the public. The police expect a large crowd in the hill capital to see the Perahera.
