May 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka police have arrested the acclaimed Sri Lankan film director and producer Chandran Rutnam after police found explosives at a former residence of him in Nugegoda.
Police Spokesperson SP Prishantha Jayakody told media that Rutnam is being interrogated by the police on the explosives found outside of his former residence.
Rutnam has vacated the house over a year ago. He has denied any knowledge of the explosives found in the house.
The police are also interrogating several people who have worked with the movie director.
Rutnam who started his movie career with the British director Sir David Lean, has worked with the American movie producers George Lucas and Steven Spielberg.
Rutnam is to be produced before courts tomorrow (31).
