May 12, Colombo: The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) of Sri Lanka, which functions under the Presidential Secretariat, will host the first-ever South Asian Mobile Content Conference in Colombo on 10th and 11th of June 2010 with the participation of a number of IT professionals.
The one-day conference will be followed by a half-day workshop on mobile application development, which will provide practical guidance to the best minds in Sri Lanka on developing useful mobile applications.
Over 25 high-level speakers all-around the world will share their views and strategic consideration on topics such as: Mobile Content Market Trends & Development, Mobile Applications, Enabling Rich Content to Mobile Consumers, Mobile Content Marketing, and Revenue Modules in the Mobile Applications.
Etisalat, one of the largest mobile operators in Sri Lanka together with hSenid Software International, a world renowned Sri Lankan software developer are pro-actively participating in the conference and workshop, said the ICTA.
The conference and workshop will be followed by the mBillionth 2010 Award jury where an eminent group of experts from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Bhutan will select the best mobile content in South Asia. Indian Ministry of Information and Communication Affairs and Digital Empowerment Foundation are the chief organizers of this competition.
ICTA Chief Operation Officer Roshan Devapura said that ICTA is trying to bring the best Sri Lankan talent to the mobile content development field in South Asia, which will be a multi-million dollar market in the future.
