May 11, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Opposition Leader Ranil Wickremasinghe had left for India yesterday (10) on a private visit.
The United National Party sources said Wickremasinghe, who has left the country alone on the Indian visit, is expected to return to the country on Thursday.
Wickremasinghe's visit to India comes in the wake of an aggressive movement in the party for reforms including a change in the party leadership.
The report on the reforms was to be presented to the party yesterday by a committee appointed for the matter. However, it was postponed due to the delay in preparing the report and is now expected to be presented next Monday.
