Jun 30, Colombo: Sri Lanka's Consumer Affairs Minister Johnston Fernando has announced that the prices of domestic LP gas will be reduced effective midnight Wednesday (30).
Accordingly, the price of a 12.5 kg cylinder of Shell gas has been reduced by Rs. 117 and the new price will be Rs. 1,652. Price of a 2.3 kg cylinder has been reduced by Rs. 21 to be sold at Rs. 304.
The other LP gas retailer, Laugfs has reduced its price of a 12.5 kg cylinder by Rs. 85 to sell at Rs. 1,659.
The Consumer Affairs Authority considered the decline in world market prices of LP gas and the recommendations of the gas retailers in the past weeks to come up with the new prices. The LP gas prices are reviewed bimonthly.
