Jun 22, Colombo: Puttalam District opposition United National Party (UNP) parliamentarian Palitha Range Bandara along with his wife and three children met President Mahinda Rajapaksa today at the Temple Trees and expressed his gratitude to the President for helping him to get medical treatment expeditiously for a speedy recovery.

Thanking the President profusely, the parliamentarian said that, had it not been for the help extended by the President, he would not have recovered from injuries sustained as a result of an attack by one of his own party colleagues.

A brutal assault by a party member just after the General Elections in April left the legislator in the Intensive Care Unit. Range Bandara had to undergo two surgeries.
